Sweet Doughnut

Every time we hear of a doughnut we immediately think of the round-shaped cake. Who doesn't? The founders of Doughnut must like it too, otherwise they wouldn't have named their outdoor backpack brand after it.

Rex Yam and Stephen Cheng met at the University of Hong Kong and discovered they shared two passions: travel and design. It's not clear whether they started turning the idea of Doughnut into reality in 2007 or 2010, because they talk about different dates on the brand's various websites. What is known is that they started out for fun and then went on to make white label products for the Japanese market. At some point, it is believed that in 2010, they decided to work exclusively under the Doughnut name. All this from the family factory of one of the founders.

As time went by, they began to gain fame and, after selling online for the first few years, they opened their first physical shop in 2013 in the Sham Shui Po district. The backpacks continued to be handmade, resulting in a high quality product.

The brand's motto is "Pack your future". The aim is to inspire consumers to pursue their dreams with a backpack with a functional aesthetic on their back. Designed for the outdoors, they are suitable to take to school, on trips or on any adventure. The design of the products combines the robustness of the outdoors with the functionality and fashion of Asian culture. They are ideal for those who live near the mountain, the sea or the city.

At BZR- Street Style Culture we have available five different models of the Doughnut: the Macaroon, the Montana, the Christopher, the Colorado and the American Vintage. With a more rectangular than round shape, the backpacks are made with water resistant 600D nylon, which makes them quite light. In addition, they have several pockets, including one for storing your water bottle inside the backpack.  The only exception are the pieces produced with cordura, a material that guarantees even greater quality.

When it comes to differences between models, we will only point out the most obvious ones. Among themselves the backpacks have very different designs and colours. The Macaroon is relatively similar to the Fjallraven Kanken.  The Colorado resembles a camping backpack. In terms of closure, the Christopher is the most different, with a single opening that closes by folding the end and fastens with two fastening buckles. As for size, each backpack has a regular size, with the Montana and Macaroon also having a smaller version available. Check the measurements well when choosing your backpack.
