It started as the poor's brand. Over the years and after a great deal of work by the brand, Havaianas has become world famous. From the poorest to the richest, almost everyone has had or has Havaianas, whether they are the most classic or the most elegant.
The classic Havaianas model, with the original design and for which the brand became known, has evolved over the years and this season is no exception. From the most basic to the most stylish, from neutral colours to the most vibrant, there is a model for all tastes. In this guide we will show you the various options available that derive from the more classic model.
There's nothing more iconic than Havaianas with the Brazilian flag next to the logo on the flip-flop strap. Did you know that this detail was added as a form of support for the Brazilian football team during the 1998 World Cup? The success of that edition was so great that the brand decided to keep the small flag and create a Brasil collection, which includes the Slide Brasil, the Brasil Layers, the Brasil Logo and the Brasil Mix.
It was in 2018 that the Slide Brasil joined the Havaianas family. With a unisex model, the Slide Brasil are the adaptation of the slide slippers trend with the brand's DNA. With an extra soft rubber, this model is very comfortable.
Out of the "pure Brazilian", the Brasil Layers are a fashion evolution of the classic model that turns 20 years old. The sole is made with layers of different colours and the flag, in pin format, has a metallic finish. Besides the usual colours, such as black, blue and green, this model is also available in a more neon palette, meeting the current fashion trends.
The Brasil Logo model is the most similar to the classic 1998 model. With the Brazilian flag next to the brand's pronounced logo, the Brasil Logo has three thin stripes around the sole with the colours of the flag: green, yellow and blue or white. In turn, the Brasil Mix, very similar to the model we have just told you about, differ in colour on the inside of the flip-flop's band.
With a higher sole at the heel, the Havaianas Top carry the brand's legacy. According to Havaianas, Brazilians love colour and that's why in the 1990s they decided to turn the sole of the slipper upside down and have the colour face up instead of towards the ground. That's how the Top flip-flops were born. Indisputably easy to find for their explosion of colour on the sole and the logo embossed on the straps with a gregocoloured pattern, there are three variations of the Top.
Havaianas Top Mix, like the Brasil Mix, have a different colour on the inside of the flip-flop's strap. In fact, the two models are identical, except that the Top Mix do not have the Brazilian flag next to the logo, nor the colours on the side of the sole. The Top Logo Metallic, as the name indicates, has a metallic colour all over it. Thirdly, the Top Prints are a range of flip-flops with a print on the sole. You can find it with floral, camouflage, animal patterns or with images from Disney, Marvel, Money Heist, Fortnite, Simpsons and Game of Thrones. The offer is varied.
As the name implies, in this model the logo is king. As well as being in the usual place, on the strap of the flip-flop, this time the Havaianas name is large-scale and centred on the top of the sole. There is also a version of the model called Hightech where the sole logo is placed next to the outside of the flip-flop.
So far we have been talking about unisex models, but with the Urban we jump to the male models. The Urban Way were thought for men who like to follow trends. In brown tones, this model is very easy to combine. With a laminated fabric strap with three colour tones and a robust design, the Havaianas Urban Way combine comfort with style.
The Urban Color Block derives from the Urban Way model, but the sole is divided in two in terms of colour. The Urban Basic, on the other hand, excels in simplicity, with only one colour in the whole model and wide gorgonian ribbon.
After the masculine models, let's travel back to the Havaianas Top, but this time with a more feminine silhouette. The Havaianas Slim are identical to the Top in colour, but are slightly thinner both on the sole and on the strap. This change transforms the model in a more delicate product. Thus, we have the Slim available in various patterns, such as flowers, neon gradients, animal print, fruits or with velvet and also with the Brazilian flag next to the logo.
To finish in beauty, Havaianas this year bet on two more trends: platforms and pastel shades. The Slim Flatform model has a three-centimetre sole and combines style with comfort, just like Havaianas has always done.
